Long Khanh cares for policy beneficiaries’ families

According to data supplied by Long Khanh’s department of Labour – War Invalid and Social Affairs, there are nearly 4,000 social policy beneficiaries in the town.

Long Khanh Authorities visits the martyr cemetary in Binh Loc commune.

Particularly, 600 of such beneficiaries are war invalids and over 1,000 of fallen combatants’ families. The number of policy beneficiaries’ families makes up 3% of the total population of Long Khanh. With the aim of responding to the appeal from the Government Party as well as developing our moral principles “Drink water, remember its source”, during the past 30 years, organizations, units at all levels contributed 2.615 billion VND to the Gratitude Fund. It provided supports for social policy beneficiaries and lifted them out of poverty. Besides, local authority also mobilized contributions from society at all levels to build or repair hundreds of houses worth 5.430 billion VND and provide many savings books to social policy beneficiaries. Especially, 16 heroic mothers, 2 war invalids, 34 families of fallen soldiers and 1 person who rendered great services to the nation  and others have received comprehensive assistance in their daily lives from local organisations and individuals.

Yearly, many delegations from 100 organizations, units in Long Khanh also visit and donate gifts to outstanding families of policy beneficiaries.

Long Khanh’s privilege policies for social policy beneficiaries have been implemented effectively, contributing to improving their living conditions. The implementation of programmes on building houses and raising funds for "paying debts of gratitude", nursing heroic mothers, caring for families of war invalids and fallen soldiers have received warm support from local people.

Since the Government Decree No. 91 came into effect in 1999, local government has promoted the movement ‘Paying Debts of Gratitude’ to provide better care for beneficiaries so they can enjoy better material and spiritual living conditions.
