Paying more attention to brand recognition for Vietnamese goods

Portal of Dong Nai) - According to many supermarkets and trade centers, the product structure at the stalls is more or less depending on the "attraction", purchasing power, and identity coverage of the products, brands. In this regard, many Vietnamese enterprises have made efforts to improve their competitiveness. Many Vietnamese companies and enterprises are more and more interested in registering to rent these shelves to display their products, especially on promotional occasions and to stimulate consumer demand.​

Many experts believe that domestic enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, and local businesses, although they have focused on quality, improving designs and packaging, have not really invested and paid much attention to the trademarks, intellectual property of products. Trademarks and brands are "intangible assets" of enterprises, when delaying trademark registration and brand protection, enterprises are at risk of losing or counterfeiting their trademarks, especially when such enterprises are more developed having more popular products.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hong, General Director of Vina Science and Technology Development Joint Stock Company (Vina CHG) cum Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Consumer Protection Association shared, in fact, the products are more popular and famous, the higher risk of counterfeiting or counterfeiting of the brand names. For example, in the countryside or suburban areas, many brands of confectionery, cosmetics, etc. have same designs and packaging as famous goods, including many Vietnamese brands. It is worth mentioning that the selling price of these "fake" products is sometimes close to the real thing.​

Therefore, in addition to strengthening management and inspection from the authorities, businesses themselves, including Vietnamese brands need to be more proactive in protecting their brands, promoting propaganda and communication, so that customers can identify real and fake products of their enterprises. On the consumer side, it is necessary to strongly boycott and say no to fake goods, poor quality goods...
