(CTT-Dong Nai) – Tan Phu district has one of the largest aquaculture area in the province with around 1,9 thousand hectares. The models used also come in different variety: in floating enclosures, in ponds, near surface level in large irrigation lakes, intensive farming, semi intensive farming, and catch-crop between fishes and rice… Furthermore, Tan Phu district especially has the largest giant freshwater prawn farming area with 69 hectares. The local administration has completed the 54-hectare intensive giant freshwater prawn farming zone which is VietGAP-certified. The district is focusing on expanding this model in the future, as it is highly profitable.

As the moment, the district has established 3 aquaculture zones that are VietGAP-certified, with the total area around 433 hectares, farming giant freshwater prawns and various types of freshwater fishes. In 2022, the district's aquaculture export index was 167 billion VNĐ, made up more than 4,9% of the total production index.
