This time of year is considered the most vibrant promotional season, highlighted by the year's biggest event, Black Friday, which falls on Friday, November 29, 2024.

Across the province, supermarkets, retail chains, and shopping centers have rolled out extensive “sales" campaigns starting from late November. These promotions, offered both online and in-store, cover a wide range of products—from fashion, accessories, and cosmetics to electronics, home appliances, essential goods, and even dining and entertainment services—attracting millions of eager customers.

Ms. Trang Phuc, Marketing Representative of Co.opmart Bien Hoa, shared that the supermarket is running a 10-day promotional program from November 21 to November 30 to celebrate Black Friday. The program offers substantial discounts of up to 50% across all categories, including fresh produce, livestock and poultry meat, dry foods, seafood, cosmetics, household items, fashion, and apparel.

Highlighted promotions include: “10 Golden Days – Shop Freely" for household goods; “Fixed Price Market at 10,000 VND" for agricultural and food products; “Year-End Clearance" for laundry and home cleaning products; “Shock Price Discounts" on cosmetics, detergents, apparel, and household appliances.

Notably, the supermarket is running a special program called “The 35-Year Saigon Co.op Anniversary", offering exclusive discounts on dry food, kitchenware, and cosmetics to commemorate the retailer's 35th anniversary. These discounted items are available exclusively at Co.opmart Bien Hoa.

“In addition to meeting the anticipated increase in consumer demand during Black Friday, Co.opmart Bien Hoa views this 10-day period as a pivotal lead-up to the year-end shopping season," emphasized Mr. Trang Phuc.

Similarly, Mr. Vu Thanh Tan, Communications Representative for Central Retail Vietnam—the operator of the Big C/GO! supermarket chain—shared that Big C Dong Nai and GO! Tan Hiep are launching numerous large-scale promotions throughout November. These campaigns offer customers a festive year-end shopping experience while allowing them to shop freely with discounts on food, household appliances, and decorations. Many items are deeply discounted, with reductions ranging from 30% to 35%.

Not only supermarkets and shopping centers but also many fashion and cosmetic retail chains are capitalizing on Black Friday and the year-end shopping season. Several local fashion brands, or “local brands," such as Canifa, Delta, and SomeHow, have already begun early promotional campaigns.

Mr. Tran Dai Duong, Founder and CEO of the fashion brand SomeHow, noted that all SomeHow stores, including the one in Bien Hoa City, as well as its online platforms, are participating in Black Friday promotions. The sale runs from November 21 to December 1, offering discounts of up to 50% across all products.

“Black Friday is one of our biggest sales events of the year," shared Mr. Dai Duong. “With over 2,000 products available both in-store and online, the more customers buy, the more they save: buying two items gets a 10% discount, three items get 15%, and four items get 20%. As a brand focused on daily wear, this is a 'golden opportunity' to bring SomeHow closer to consumers by offering high-quality products at attractive prices."

This year's Black Friday coincides with Dong Nai's 2024 Promotion Month, which runs from November 1 to December 1.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the 2024 Promotion Month aims to encourage organizations, businesses, and distributors to implement promotional programs that stimulate domestic consumer demand. The campaign also focuses on enhancing product marketing, understanding consumer preferences, and strengthening brand reputation through practical and effective promotional activities.
