Reporting to the Prime Minister and the Delegation, leaders of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the investor in the construction of phase 1 of the Long Thanh airport construction investment project, said that until At this time, the volume of construction excavation, backfilling and road filling is nearly 53 million m3.

Currently, the construction units are focusing on deploying the runway, taxiway, apron and the layout of component projects 1, 2, 4 according to the plan, ensure synchronous commencement of main items in the first quarter of 2023.

The runway and apron will be auctioned next February, especially the passenger terminal item (considered the most important part of the Long Thanh airport project phase 1) due to the unsuccessful first bid, progress is delayed by 6 months. ACV is developing a plan to re-tender for the construction of the station body and equipment installation.

Regarding site clearance, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung said that the area of 2,532 hectares of land for the construction of the airport in phase 1 of the province has handed over to ACV more than 97% of the land area. The remaining area of the entire project, functional branches of the province and Long Thanh district are speeding up the implementation of compensation, support and resettlement.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and praised Dong Nai's efforts in carrying out site clearance. However, this work has not achieved the set goal. The Prime Minister requested that, by the end of the first quarter of 2023, Dong Nai must complete the handover of the entire site for the construction of the Long Thanh airport project phase 1 and try to finish the second quarter of 2023. site for two traffic routes connecting to the airport to start construction.

Regarding the four component projects of Long Thanh airport construction and installation, the Prime Minister emphasized: the decisive component projects No. 2 and No. 3 have been allocated the budget, the biggest problem is the coordination and organization of implementation. presently. The bid package for the passenger terminal body was canceled, ACV is the investor, the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises and the Ministry of Transport are responsible for re-bidding this package. The Prime Minister also noted, it is necessary to calculate more options in case there is no contractor participating in the bid; There are difficulties and problems in the implementation process, which should be proposed to the Government and the Prime Minister for consideration and settlement.

To ensure the project progress, the Prime Minister requested the establishment of a Working Group led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha with the participation of leaders of ministries. The Deputy Prime Minister will directly direct and regularly inspect the Long Thanh airport project to keep up with the progress.
