(News Portal – Dong Nai) – During a working visit to Dong Nai, a delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the progress of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project at the Nhon Trach Bridge construction site in Dong Nai. The Prime Minister also visited and extended Lunar New Year wishes to project officials, workers, and employees. On this occasion, the Prime Minister commended Dong Nai Province for its excellent land clearance efforts for the project.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with leaders from ministries, departments, and Dong Nai Province, inspects the progress of the Nhon Trach Bridge construction.
The delegation also included Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders from various ministries and departments. Dong Nai's representatives included Provincial Party Secretary Vu Hong Van; Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc; and other leaders from the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and related departments.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project spans over 76.3 kilometers, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An, with a total investment of over 75 trillion VND. Construction began in June 2023 and is expected to be completed by September 2026. Currently, land clearance for the project has reached 90-100%, and construction progress ranges from 22-62%.
Specifically, Component Project 1A, which is approximately 8.2 kilometers long, includes 6.3 kilometers in Dong Nai Province and over 1.9 kilometers in Ho Chi Minh City. This component, managed by the My Thuan Project Management Board (under the Ministry of Transport), has a total investment of about 6.9 trillion VND. According to the Provincial People's Committee, Dong Nai has completed 100% of the land clearance for the section passing through the province. The overall construction progress of this component has reached 85.1%, exceeding the contract schedule by 8.4% and surpassing last year's progress by 46.4%.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended Dong Nai Province for completing 100% of the land clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project section passing through the province.
As for Package CW1 (Nhon Trach Bridge, 2.6 kilometers long), construction progress has reached 93%. The main bridge has been connected for three central spans, with the remaining two side spans expected to be completed by February 2025. Nhon Trach Bridge spans the Dong Nai River, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. It is the largest and fastest-progressing bridge in the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project.
Additionally, the segment of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 passing through Dong Nai includes two component projects: Component Project 3, which involves the construction of the Ring Road 3, and Component Project 4, which focuses on compensation, support, and resettlement for the ring road segment in Dong Nai, covering a total land acquisition of approximately 65 hectares.
Component Project 3 spans about 11.2 kilometers (including 5 kilometers of new construction and over 6.2 kilometers of side roads for Component Project 1A). This component, managed by the Provincial Project Management Board for Transport Construction, has a total investment of over 3.8 trillion VND. Dong Nai has completed 100% of the land clearance for this project, covering a total of 65 hectares.
Component Project 3 consists of three construction packages: package No. 26 (2.2 kilometers from the starting point to the intersection with Road 25C) has reached 19.2% progress; package No. 29 (2.8 kilometers from the 25C intersection to the 25B intersection) has reached 27.6% progress; package No. 32 (from the 25B intersection to the endpoint) has reached 19.9% progress.
The disbursement of funds from early 2024 to now has reached 86%.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc reported on the progress of the component projects under the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project within Dong Nai Province.
Inspecting and encouraging workers at the Nhon Trach Bridge construction site, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised Dong Nai Province for completing 100% of the land clearance. He also urged localities involved to focus on directing the implementation of component projects, pushing contractors to ensure a steady supply of road embankment materials, and mobilizing sufficient machinery, equipment, and human resources. He emphasized the importance of working "three shifts, four crews" to meet project deadlines.
The goal is to complete the Nhon Trach Bridge construction by April 30, 2025, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification.
