It is necessary to accelerate the construction of resettlement areas of Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway project.
The ‘Economic Committee of the National
Assembly’ in meeting with Provincial People's Committee leaders
On January 21, the Delegation of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly (ECNA) led by Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, ECNA Deputy Director, inspected the construction site and and worked with Dong Nai on the hand-over of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway project. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc and representatives from relevant departments, branches and localities welcomed and worked with ECNA delegation.
After conducting field inspection, site clearance and resettlement, ECNA Deputy Director Nguyen Minh Son highly appreciated the site clearance and resettlement implementation results of Dong Nai and Binh Thuan provinces.
Particularly in Dong Nai province, it has to perform concurrently the compensation and clearance of 5 thousand hectares of land for the two projects of Long Thanh International Airport and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway, so it is carrying a huge amount of work. So far, the site handover of Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway has been completed over 97.7%, and this is a good news.
ECNA Deputy Director also requested local leaders and related units to coordinate with the remaining households to soon hand over the entire construction site. Dong Nai province is proposed to speed up the construction of resettlement areas so that local people can settle down.

Giay Expressway project.
For households that still have complaints, they need to be solved properly because the right to complain is a citizen's right. It is necessary to apply existing policies so that people will not be disadvantaged because they have to cede their residential and productive land. When these expressway projects are completed on schedule, the locality will have a new 'resilience', development planning for investment, urban development, etc.
Through a survey, the supply of construction materials is scarce for such expressways being deployed. This issue is under the local authority. Technical infrastructure relocation also needs to be soon dismantled and dismantled. For works under ministries and central branches, after this trip, the Delegation will synthesize and consult with relevant ministries and branches to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for project construction.
According to Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat, the project of upgrading and expanding national highway 1 was completed in the period of 2014-2015, but has just been expanded, has not yet met the increasing freight transport demand. Therefore, the Ministry of Transport determined to build the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway to relieve traffic jams for Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, the process of planning and licensing material mines for project construction takes a lot of time. In the immediate future, while waiting for the licensing of new mines, the existing earth and stone mines need to be extended and the exploitation productivity increased to meet the construction.
