​The Ministry of Transport has responded to petitions of voters in Dong Nai province on the progress of a number of highway projects through the area. In which, the Ministry of Transport assessed that the investment in expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway is very necessary and urgent, especially when Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 put into operation by the end of 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway section through Dong Nai province

Recently, on the basis of the proposal of the Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC) and the opinions of the Committee for the State Capital Management at Enterprises on the assignment of VEC to raise equity capital and other lawfully mobilized capital sources to study and take steps to prepare for investment and expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway project as planned. The Ministry of Transport has reported to the Prime Minister to consider and assign VEC to study and take steps to prepare for investment and expansion of the project. According to the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Transport has sent a written request to VEC to actively study and take steps to prepare for project investment and submit to the Committee for State Capital Management at Enterprises and all levels authorized under the regulations.

The Ministry of Transport will closely coordinate with VEC, the Committee for State Capital Management at enterprises in the process of investment preparation and submit to competent authorities for appraisal and approval of the project investment policy for early implementation expand to meet the needs of economic and social development of the provinces in the region.
