Vietnam - Korea cooperation destination

On December 22, 1992, Vietnam officially established diplomatic relations with Korea and in October 2009, the two countries established a strategic cooperative partnership. Dong Nai is a locality that established cooperative relations with Korean localities very early.

The province also hosted a delegation of Gyeongnam provincial government to visit and work in Dong Nai. Organized to welcome the delegation of the National Assembly of Gyeongnam Province, Korea to visit and work at the Provincial People's Council and the delegation of Yuseong District, Daejeon City, Korea to pay courtesy visits to the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and work. working with the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district.

On the occasion of welcoming the delegation of Yuseong District, Daejeon City to visit and greet in early November, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh emphasized, attracting foreign investment capital. The province ranks fifth in the country with over 1.5 thousand projects, total registered capital of USD 32.4 billion. In which, Korean investors are currently leading in terms of foreign direct investment projects and investment capital in the province with 426 projects, total capital of USD 7.2 billion. The province always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for Korean businesses to continue investing in strong fields.
District Mayor Chung Yong Rae said that Nhon Trach in particular and Dong Nai province in general have a long-term cooperation and exchange relationship with District Yuseong and many other localities of Korea in many fields. District leaders will work to further advance this partnership.

Up to now, the province has signed and re-signed 9 memorandums of understanding, international cooperation agreements with 5 localities and partners of Korea such as: 4 agreements on enhanced international cooperation with Gyeongnam province; signed and re-signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in training and human resource development with Kyungsung University and Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd… Along with that, departments, branches and localities in the province signed and renewed signed 17 memorandums of understanding, international cooperation agreements at the departmental, branch, local and partner levels in the provinces and cities of Korea.

On that basis, the province has implemented agreements and memorandums of cooperation at provincial and departmental levels signed with neighboring localities through exciting activities such as exchange of delegations of senior leaders. economic and cultural exchanges, cooperation in education - training, agriculture, fitness - sport, exchange of civil servants.

Deepening people-to-people diplomacy

During the period from 2013 to present, the province has had 223 turns of individuals, NGOs, companies, funds and associations to implement 312 programs, projects and activities. non-project aid with a total committed value of about USD 19.8 million. In particular, Korea is one of the top 4 countries in this activity in the province with 24 organizations investing in 28 projects.

Specifically, Cooperation and Participation in Overseas NGOs (COPION) has implemented 3 projects to renovate the facilities and equipment of the school health room at 3 primary schools in Tan Phu and Cam My districts; World Share organization implements a project to build a preschool in Hamlet 10, Song Ray Commune (Cam My District)… Particularly during the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, Korean businesses have joined hands to contribute. equipment to support the province in disease prevention and control.

November 2022 is the second time in the year that the Korean Business Association in Dong Nai supports the construction of houses for ethnic minority families with difficult circumstances in Xuan Hung commune (Xuan Loc district).

Mr. Sa Ro Les (Cham ethnic group, living in hamlet 4, Xuan Hung commune), one of the two families supported to build a house, said that the value of the house after completion is VND 180 million; In which, Korean Business Association in Dong Nai supported VND 80 million, the rest was supported by families, hamlets and local authorities.

According to Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Hung Commune Tran Dinh Lai, the need for assistance in building permanent houses in the locality is still very large, especially in ethnic villages. Therefore, the locality hopes that in the near future, it will continue to receive the attention and support from the Korean Business Association in Dong Nai.

From that fact, Chairman of the Association of Korean Businesses in Dong Nai Kim Young Hwan said that the enterprises in the association not only invest in economic development and create jobs for workers but also regularly carry out social security activities to take care of people's lives together with the government. In the coming time, the association will continue to accompany the government to support people in need.

In order to further deepen the people-to-people diplomatic relationship, in 2016 the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association of the province was established. Over the years, the Association has carried out many meaningful and practical activities and has become a bridge contributing to consolidating and cultivating the traditional friendship relationship between Vietnam and Korea in general, between Dong Nai province and the localities of Korea in particular.
