Department of Construction has announced the program for Dong Nai urban development stage to 2020 and the period from 2021 to 2030 according to the decision of the urban development approved by Provincial People’s Committee.
In which, in 2015, Dong Nai has 11 urban areas, in which 01 urban area (Bien Hoa city) basically meets the criteria of urban centers of grade I; 2 urban areas (Long Khanh and Nhon Trach) meet the criteria grade III; 1 urban area grade IV (Trang Bom) and 7 urban areas grade V (Long Thanh, Dau Giay, Gia ray, Long Giao, Vinh An, Dinh Quan and Tan Phu). Until 2020, remain 11 urban areas, including Bien Hoa is urban center of grade I; Nhon Trach basically is urban area grade II; Long Khanh town is urban area grade III; Long Thanh and Trang Bom are urban areas grade III; Long Thanh and Trang Bom are urban area grade IV; the remaining urban areas: Dinh Quan, Tan Phu, Dau Giay, Gia Ray, Long Giao and Vinh An remain urban centers of grade V. The rate of urbanization now reached 50-60%.. By 2030, the province increases to 17 urban areas. The rate of urbanization in this period reach 60-70%.
