Watermelon is often grown in the months nearly Tet.

Specifically, value of agricultural production reaches VND2,791 billion, up 2.7% compared with  the same period; value of forestry production is VND33.9 billion, up 7.3% compared with  the same period; and aquaculture was VND345.5 billion, up 1% over the same period.

Production of agriculture, forestry and aquaculture have achieved some remarkable outcomes such as the fact that the total cultivated area is 62,843 hectares of annual crop, including 37,021 hectares of winter-spring crops, accounting 99.9% of the plan, up 3.6% compared with the same period; 25,822 hectares of the summer-fall crop, occupying 31.9% of the plan, 44.1% compared with the same period. Total area of the summer-fall crop has downsized due to the late rainy season and soil with less moisture preventing the simultaneous cultivation.

Productivity of major crops gets high, such as 54.8 quintals/ha of rice, 71.2 quintals/ha corn; 138.4 quintals/ha vegetables, etc. In breeding, total pigs in the province reach 1.2 million and 8.8 million chickens, 81,605 cows, and 4,336 buffaloes.

Besides, the crop-planted area shifting in many localities for the winter-spring gets successful. In fact, over 2499 hectares has been shifted. Thong Nhat district converts 23 hectares of paddy field into corn, Tan Phu district transfers 1,050 hectares of paddy into corn, melons, vegetables, bean; Trang Bom district shifts 636 hectares of paddy ,  cassava to corn, fish breeding, forestry plants and perennials; Long Khanh district replaces 50.4 hectares of paddy crops with beans and vegetables.
