The meeting’s view

As reported, the Steering Committee of moving environmentally polluting production, business and service establishments out of urban areas and concentrated residential areas has so far completed the list of polluting production, business and service establishments out of urban areas in Dong Nai province. The first phase of this relocation includes 29 establishments having the scale of reporting and assessing the environment’s effects and 497 establishments having the scale of commitment to protect the environment (32 enterprise establishments and 465 individual business establishments). To identify the criteria on assessing establishments that must be moved, the Steering Committee has set up such standards as: unsuitable locations; belonging to the list of establishments causing serious environmental pollution; belonging to the list of establishments having the risk of causing environmental pollution; and establishments expecting to move to new areas approved by the provincial People’s Committee. The relocation was expected to carry out in 2010. However, this relocation will be deployed in early 2011 due to various reasons. In the short term, production, business and service establishments in urban areas will be relocated first.
