Dong Nai Red Cross: VND49 Billion raised for Humanitarian Aid Activities in 2009

On the morning of Jan. 26, Dong Nai Red Cross held the conference to conclude its first phase performance in 2009 and disseminate major tasks in 2010.

Free health checkups for the elderly in Xuan Loc district

    According to the association, total capital it has raised for humanitarian aid and healthcare activities in 2009 exactly hits VND49,466,516,000 representing 114% of the planned target, up 19.8% compared with that of 2008. Specifically, the campaign themed “Each organization, each individual helps a humanitarian address” is effectively carried out; plan to build 100 houses of compassion is successfully implemented; and campaigns to raise money for such activities as “Tet festival for the poor and Agent Orange victims”, healthcare, donors blood movement, and so on are well conducted.

    The Red Cross also proposes direction of operation in 2010, which states that it will try its best to fulfill the year planned goals and targets, leaving major focus on quality improvement in each of its affiliates. It will strike for a three and more percent increase in its humanitarian value compared with the year 2009.
