300 typical female employees representing 68,000 women employees with excellent achievements in the province in 2005 gathered at Dong Nai Party Committee’s office building to celebrate the Women Day (March 8th) and 1966th anniversary of the Trung sisters uprising.

 Prominent at the celebration were Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Mr. Vo Van Mot, Dong Nai Party’s Deputy Secretary and Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee.

In the history, Vietnamese women made great contribution to the construction and protection of the country and these decorated the glorious traditions of Vietnamese people. In the reconstruction of the country nowadays, women continue to review their important roles and tremendous abilities in economic developments and in women progress.

Women account for 60% of the labor force in Dong Nai. They have become and an indispensable force in socioeconomic development in the province. Of the women employee with treasury education, 5000 had graduated from a university and another 430 had reached post graduate level, up 24% on the year 2000. 2300 women are currently in the managing staffs of various level Party Committees, local authorities and enterprises. They all show the creativeness and dynamism whatever capacity they may act.

Speaking at the celebration, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh confirmed the crucial roles of women in Dong Nai’s economic developments and integration process. He also urged departments and sectors in the province to focus more on the propaganda and implementation of emulation movements so that women in the province can have an opportunity to make effective contributions.
