On the morning 29-9, Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Trade Promotion Department in HCMC held a trade conference with the delegation of Ministry of Industry and Trade of Republic of Benin. The conference was attended by 15 Dong Nai-based enterprises in the fields of agro-processing, textile, mechanics, etc.
Benin is a country in Western Africa and a gateway into African market. It has abundant material resources of cashew nuts, cotton, timber, marine products and so on. Benin market has demand for varied commodities that are Vietnam's export advantages such as coffee, pepper, tea, rice, fabric and textile, footwear, rubber and consumer goods.

At the meeting, Benin delegation asked Vietnamese enterprises to transfer technologies of cashew, fruit, wood processing and textile to their firms. Also, the delegation proposed the cooperation programs between University of Technology, Agricultural Machinery Company and Vietnamese firms to develop agro-processing and preserving technologies in the country. Some areas that Benin calls for investments are farm product processing industry, fabric and textile, mechanic, agriculture and healthcare. Benin Government will create equal investment environment for all foreign investors by means of incentives for tax and policies, etc. and suggests Vietnamese enterprises opening their representative offices in Benin to ease the trading.
TDuring working day, Benin delegation came to visit and learn from experience of Donafood Company, Agricultural Machinery Company and Nhat Nam Joinstock Company.
