In the evening of November 9th in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Science and Technology in cooperation with the World Intellectual Properties Organization (WIPO), Korean Intellectual Properties Organization (KIPO) and the Centre for record book of Vietnam (Vietkings) have held an reward ceremony for the invention contest of 2013
This is the first time the contest was held and it attracted 146 technical solutions from individuals and organizations over provinces and districts of the South. Many innovations, inventions and technical solutions are highly applicable, contributing to economic and social activities, security and national defense.
The invention named “Smart recycle bin” of the two pupils from Dong Nai, Tran Dang Quang (grade 8A) and Vu Minh Triet (grade 8B) in Lac Hong Bilingual School, Bien Hoa City is excellent to come into the final contest with other 14 inventions. This invention was directly guided by the lecturer Le Phuong Long (the Engineering and Mechanical Department, Lac Hong University).
The smart recycle bin is equipped with a sensor system which enables the bin lid to open automatically when detecting people are nearby, at the same time creates a notice “Please dispose the waste in the tank” and then finishes with “Thank you” after receiving the waste. It not only obtains high consideration for practical solution to protect environment, but also for its friendly design with pupils.
In the earlier, the smart recycle bin gained the highest award from the Department of Science and Technology at the robot contest of Dong Nai province.
