DOFICO Celebrates the 5th Anniversary and Receives the First Class Labor Medal

January 24, Dong Nai Food and Industry Company (DOFICO) celebrated its 5th anniversary of foundation and development and received the State President’s first-class labor medal.

The anniversary was attended by Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Nguyen Hai Nam and the leadership of Dong Nai province: Member of the Central Party, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Council Tran Dinh Thanh; Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Van Mot; Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai and Chairwoman of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien.

DOFICO was established in 2005. Its parent company is Dong Nai Tobacco One-Member Limited Company which has 21 subsidiaries.

Up to now, DOFICO has had 31 subsidiaries and associated companies.

DOFICO’s state equity in 2010 was valued at VND2,118 billion (or US$ 104.21 million), a 2.4 fold increase compared to 2005.

DOFICO’s total sales hit VND32,268 (or US$1.58 billion) in 2005-2010 period.

In particular, total sales in 2010 reached VND7,022 billion (or US$345.51 billion), a 1.92 fold increase compared to 2005.

DOFICO has more than 6,000 employees, a 1.2 fold increase compared to 2005.

DOFICO receives its first class labor medal

Over the past five years, DOFICO has followed Dong Nai People’s Committee directions and guidelines concerning the State enterprise reform.

There have been ten equitized enterprises, two joint stock start-ups, and one one-member limited company.

Up to now, there have been fifteen joint stock enterprises, accounting for 71 percent.

The third class labor medal is being given to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Hong and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam

The State President acknowledged DOFICO’s the past five year achievements and awarded the first class labor medal to the company DOFICO.

General Director and Chairwoman of of Board Directors Nguyen Thi Le Hong and Deputy Director Nguyen Thanh Tam were honored to receive the third class labor medal from the State President.

On this occasion, the company has officially launched its new brand and logo.

Dong Nai People’s Committee awards the commendation flag to DOFICO on the occasion of its 5th anniversary

At the anniversary, on behalf of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai congratulated DOFICO’s staff on the achievements they have obtained the past years.

Thanks to their efforts, all the staff of DOFICO have gradually helped the company through difficulties and brought the newly-established company into stable and effective operation, Thai said.

So far, DOFICO has become one of the four largest corporations in Dong Nai.

2011 is the first year to implement the province’s 2011-2015 period socio-economic development plans and Dong Nai Provincial Party organs’ resolutions.

It is expected that there have remained a lot of challenges ahead.

Thus, Thai made the following proposals to DOFICO:

+ To assess development strategy in 2011-2015 period.

+ To promote the role of a State corporation.

+  To do research into and make high quality products, make a company with its brand known to the public, expand market, make in-depth changes to its structure and streamline its organizational structure.

+ To arrange and restructure businesses doing business ineffectively.

+ To carry out unfinished projects to promote the development of industry, agriculture and services and to make contributions to the province’s industrialization and modernization.
