(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On April 2nd, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Hoang, led a delegation to work with the People's Committee of Long Thanh district on the situation of industrial and commercial development in the area. The Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Pham Van Cuong, also attended the meeting.

During the working session, representatives of the Long Thanh district People's Committee shared some difficulties and obstacles related to the development of industrial cluster infrastructure, such as Tam An and Long Phuoc 1. They also raised issues regarding the consideration of canceling the Do Thanh automobile industrial cluster plan, the construction of safe food business points at markets, the call for investment in building rural markets, and the promotion of participation in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program by production and business establishments.

by the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade and its affiliated units
to resolve difficulties and obstacles within their jurisdiction.

In her directive statement during the working session, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized that in the coming period, Long Thanh district should focus its resources on leveraging advantages and directing the development of a robust and effective commercial and service network to capitalize on the benefits when Long Thanh Airport becomes operational.
Regarding the upgrading of rural markets and ensuring food safety and hygiene in markets, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang requested the district to conduct a specific review of the markets that need upgrading to meet the actual needs of the people. The evaluation of the effectiveness of investment and construction of markets should be reassessed, and inspections should be strengthened to ensure food safety and hygiene. In addition, the locality needs to enhance the implementation of trade promotion activities and ensure the effectiveness of supporting the recruitment of commercial officers.

Regarding the difficulties and obstacles related to the development of industrial cluster infrastructure, the provincial leadership requested the People's Committee of Long Thanh district to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and relevant units to review and remove obstacles related to planning and land clearance in a proper sequence and in accordance with regulations. Regarding the proposal to cancel the Do Thanh automobile industrial cluster plan, the local authorities need to carefully review the matter and urgently submit a report to the provincial People's Committee before April 5th.
According to the People's Committee of Long Thanh district, in the first quarter of 2024, the industrial and construction sector on the district's territory is estimated to have reached over 62.7 trillion VND, an increase of nearly 28% compared to the same period last year. The total retail sales of goods and services in the district are estimated to be around 10.9 trillion VND, up more than 25% compared to the same period in 2023.
