The theme of Techfest 2024 in Dong Nai province, as well as the whole country, emphasizes the integration of Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem with the region and the international community. One of the focal points this year is green growth and sustainable development. Circular economy is an economic model in which design, production, and services aim to prolong the lifespan of materials and eliminate negative impacts on the environment. In the current context, transitioning from a linear economy to a circular economy presents a significant opportunity for sustainable development, addressing both economic objectives and environmental pollution, and coping with climate change.

The conference was the place for experts from research institutes and businesses to present on various topics: Circular economy - sustainable development - innovative startups; Circular economy model in agriculture (banana cultivation and banana-derived products); Circular economy model in industrial parks (green industrial parks, sustainable development); Solutions for designing green factories.

According to the speakers, despite achieving significant results in socio-economic development, Viet Nam is facing numerous challenges related to resource depletion, environmental pollution, and climate change. These challenges become more complex as Viet Nam continues to experience population growth, urbanization, and industrialization. Developing a circular economy is the path for Viet Nam to pursue sustainability and address various economic and social issues at hand.
