Trade surplus to set new record

For the first nine months of 2017, Dong Nai's trade surplus is expected to reach about $ 1.7 billion, which is a new record in the province's exports. Since the beginning of the year, the growth rate of many export items of the province still maintains high.
 

 


​According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, for the first seven months of 2017, the country's trade surplus is more than $ 3 billion and is estimated to reach $ 5 billion by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Dong Nai is one of few localities that see an increase in trade surplus the last 4 years. This is a good sign for the industrial production and export of the province.

* Exports to go up
 
Dong Nai exports hundreds of different products, of which 40 items have large export turnover. The main export items include footwear, textile, textile fibers, wood products, steel products, computers, electronic products and components, machinery and equipment. The province is still in the top 5 in terms of exporting goods throughout the country.
 
For many years, footwear has always brought the largest export turnover and import surplus in the province. For the first nine months of the year, the sector exported over $ 2.52 billion, an increase of nearly 11% over the same period last year, and is expected to reach nearly $ 3.46 billion. Footwear is the item that is exported to many countries in the world. Famous footwear brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok ... have placed orders with several enterprises in Dong Nai and some of them have received orders until mid-2018.
 
Mr. Nguyen Sy Phuc, Chairman of Trade Union of Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company in Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 2 (in Bien Hoa City, and is one of the four largest footwear exporters in Dong Nai province), said: "Cong The company produces more than 2 million pairs of shoes per month and most them are exported. Since the beginning of 2017, the company has increased its capacity by 15% over the same period last year." The big footwear enterprises in Dong Nai said that until the end of 2017, it will continue to increase its capacity to meet the orders.
Mr. Tran Van Chuan, Manager of General Department of Nagae Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Long Duc Industrial Zone, Long Thanh District), said: "We export about 60% of the aluminum parts to Japan. the rest is consumed in the domestic market. This year, exports are very favorable so production and sales increase about 20% over the same period in 2016. The company continues to expand export markets to increase the capacity of the plant.
 
* Wider market
 
According to the Dong Nai Department of Statistics, it is estimated that the export turnover and trade surplus of the province this year can reach reach approximately $ 17 and $ 2.2 billion respectively. On average, Dong Nai's monthly export surplus is nearly USD 190 million, if it still maintains the same export surplus until the end of the year, the new record of the province's export surplus will be set.
 
Ms. Quan Thi Lien Lien, Director of Hoan My Co., Ltd (Vinh Cuu District), said: "All accessories for the garment industry produced by the company are exported to European countries, America and other countries. The company is continuing to expand its domestic production and will invest more in Indonesia to supply to customers from major fashion companies around the world. The export market for garment accessories is very favorable ". Enterprises in Dong Nai are well taking advantage of their free trade agreements and the ASEAN Economic Community to expand and increase their export output.
Mr. Duong Minh Dung, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that: "The export market of enterprises in the province is relatively stable and continues to expand, which has helped the index of industrial production for 9 Month of the year increase more than 8.3%. Exports to major traditional markets such as the US, Japan, South Korea, and Europe for the first months of the year have been high and continue to maintain the same growth rate as many businesses have received orders until early 2018 " .
According to some economic experts, in 2018 many items of Vietnam still enjoy more benefits when exported to the US, Europe, Korea and Japan compared to ASEAN countries such as China, India.
