(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On October 16, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung chaired a conference to review the work in the fields of science, education, culture, and society for the first 9 months of the year and to discuss the direction and tasks for the final 3 months of 2024. Co-chairing the conference was Nguyen Thi Hong Trang, Standing Deputy Head of the Department for Information and Education of the Provincial Party Committee.

Effective implementation of various activities
In the first 9 months of 2024, cultural, healthcare, education and training, ethnic, and religious activities were effectively implemented with the attention of various sectors, levels, and localities. Information dissemination, cultural and artistic activities were lively and diverse. Public healthcare and social welfare projects were actively promoted, ensuring the well-being of the people. Support policies for teachers at all levels in the province were effectively implemented. The ethnic and religious situation in the province remained stable, and state management of beliefs and religions was strengthened.
However, there remain some challenges in the implementation of activities in various fields. For instance, the Provincial People's Committee has not yet been able to present a resolution on the socialization of the education sector to the Provincial People's Council due to the Education Law's stipulation that only private schools can transition to non-profit private schools (there is no model for public schools transitioning to private). The incidence of hand, foot, and mouth disease is on the rise, and diseases like rabies and monkeypox are showing unpredictable trends. Cases of child accidents and sexual abuse remain high, and there are significant outstanding debts related to social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance with long-standing unpaid amounts from various organizations and individuals.
Representatives from the departments, sectors, and localities reported difficulties and challenges, such as a shortage of human resources in sectors like labor, war invalids and social affairs, culture, sports, and tourism, as well as education and training. Some educational institutions have not adhered to regulations regarding fees. Additionally, localities face challenges in implementing cultural investment activities as outlined in Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU, dated December 12, 2023, from the Provincial Party Executive Committee, which aims to build and promote the cultural values and human qualities of Dong Nai as important resources and driving forces for comprehensive and sustainable development.

Increasing inspection and supervision
In his conclusion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung acknowledged the efforts of the departments, sectors, units, and localities in fulfilling their tasks over the past period. He also requested that each unit and locality continue to closely follow the thematic resolutions related to the fields of science, education, culture, and society, and focus on specific tasks in the fourth quarter to successfully complete the assigned duties.
In addition, he encouraged the research and implementation of the Dong Nai Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, in each sector and locality. He emphasized the need to strengthen policy communication efforts, ensure timely dissemination of information about activities so that the public can follow and understand, and enhance inspection and supervision efforts across all sectors in the final months of the year.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Son Hung also tasked the Office of the Provincial People's Committee with reviewing the outstanding tasks and unfinished work of the units and localities, and urged them to follow through. For any difficulties, challenges, or recommendations, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee will gather feedback and advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions.
