Dong Nai Veterans Association Holds a Pre-summation Meeting for the First Half of 2011

The Association’s report is a summary of its achievements in the first half of 2011. The report shows that it has obtained outstanding achievements in many fields.

Levels of the Association have admitted 775 members, bringing its total members to 27,826, accounting for 98 percent compared with its total membership.

The Association’s Party members account for 33 percent.

The Association keeps giving stronger assistance to its members to help them do family business, and reduce poverty as follows:

- Appeal for VND230 million (or US$) in donations towards the renovations of four houses.

- Its members have made loans worth nearly VND1.7 billion (or US$81,870.1) to each other for production activities, contributed nearly 2,000 labor days, and helped each other with plant and breed varieties, and farming land.

- Make regular donations for charity funds, organize visits and give encouragement words to its underpriviledged members, and make trips back to history.

- Collaborate with committees, sectors, and unions in educating 132,000 students on traditions, cultivate 390 youth union members, and strengthen 32 youth detachments to get 210 youth union members ready for the Party.

Besides, levels of the Association have paid attention to a stronger participation in the building and protection of the Party, the government, and in preseravation of security, national defense, and rural traffic order.

In terms of directions and tasks until late 2011, Dong Nai Veterans Association will continue strengthening its propaganda programs and studying Dong Nai Party Committee’s resolutions and directives.

At the meeting, the Association’s members also heard its Executive Board report on the contents to prepare for the Association’s Congress at all levels and on some contents related to the East Sea issues.
