86th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism, the 22nd Gold Pen Prizes Awarded

On the afternoon of June 20, Dong Nai Journalists Association cooperated with Dong Nai Radio and Television Station in celebrating the 86th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2011) and awarded the 22nd Gold Pen prizes to winners in Dong Nai Radio and Television Station.

The anniversary was attended by Member of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee and Head of Commission for Propaganda and Education at Dong Nai Party Committee Huynh Van Toi, Chairperson of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Council Huynh Thi Nga, and Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri.

At the anniversary, Chairperson of Dong Nai Journalists Association Mai Song Be delivered a speech to reminisce about the 86-year tradition of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism in Dong Nai.

Addressing the anniversary, Mr. Huynh Van Toi commended Dong Nai’s journalists for and acknowledged their major contributions.

He stressed that the province’s press agencies ought to study and apply IT to modern journalism, make investment plans for new equipment, and increase their political level and professional skills for the quality improvement of media products to make considerable contributions to the building of Dong Nai in a new period, and to deserve an intellectual companion of the Party and the people of Dong Nai.

At the anniversary, Dong Nai People’s Committee awarded an unexpected certificate of merit to reporter Tran Dinh Tuong Lam (Dong Nai Radio and Television Station) as a prize C winner in National Journalism Awards 2011.

First prizes are awarded to the authors of the Cultural and Social Department at Dong Nai Newspaper

On this occasion, Dong Nai Journalists Association awarded the 12th Gold Pen prizes to winner journalists and groups of winner journalists.

Particularly, the journalists of Cultural and Social Committee at Dong Nai Newspaper won the first prize for “Influence from the Great Campaign” and two second prizes. One is “AO Sisters” by journalist Tuong Lam at Dong Nai Radio and Television Station and the other is “Combat Inflation” by the pair of reporters Xuan Phu – Kim Ngan at Dong Nai Newspaper.

Dong Nai Journalists Association awarded three third prizes and six consolation prizes to winners.

In addition, three first prizes for “Study and follow the ethical example of President Ho Chi Minh” campaign were awarded on this occasion.
