Activities responding to Month of Action for Children reviewed

With the theme “Safety for children to live and develop” together with the whole nation, the Month of Action for children in Dong Nai province this year has been held on May 5 – June 30, attracting the participation of all levels, sectors, organizations, and individuals who take care of children and protect their interests properly.

        Huynh Thi Nghia said that the Month of Action for Children was deployed and mobilized across the districts, towns and city in the province including Vinh Cuu district and Long Khanh town directly launched by district People’s Committee, and remaining districts and Bien Hoa city by Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Division. Many activities responding to the Month of Action for Children has taken place such as the talk titled “Safety for children to live and develop”, visiting and offering 2,000 gifts worth over VND200 million to poor children, and protecting children from accidents and being badly treated; and so on

        Specially, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs collaborated with press agencies to produce the reportage of street children in Ho Chi Minh City in order to support them. Accordingly, 10 street children were received and will be provided vocational training in the upcoming time.

        At present, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has collaborated with Dong Nai Radio and Television Station and relevant departments to organizing the fundraising performance namely “For the 300 children’s hearts”. As a result of this program, more than 30 children enjoyed free heart surgeries (worth VND50 million each).

        She also stated that the Month of Action for Children contributed to popularize strong awareness in children protection and development for all walks of life.
