(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of September 10, in Tokyo (Japan), Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee (PPC) collaborated with the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan to organize the signing ceremony for the 5th Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement with the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI-Kansai).

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Japan, Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh, and Mrs. Quyen Thi Thuy Ha, Head of the Commercial Office of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka.
From Dong Nai, the delegation included Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai, and Head of the Working Delegation, Mr. Quan Minh Cuong; Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, along with leaders from several provincial departments and agencies.
METI-Kansai was represented by Deputy Director of the Kansai Bureau, Morishita Tsuyoshi, and related units.

Since 2013, Dong Nai PPC and METI-Kansai have maintained a signed economic cooperation agreement. Over the past years, both sides have actively implemented the memorandum's key points, achieving significant results that have contributed to the economic development of both regions.
In her speech at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized that the two parties have actively implemented the signed agreements over the years, resulting in positive outcomes that have enhanced Dong Nai's investment environment. This cooperation has also boosted economic development between Dong Nai and the Kansai region, building and strengthening a sustainable economic partnership.

Over the past decade of cooperation, both sides have formalized the contents of the agreements and actively coordinated efforts, successfully implementing initiatives such as establishing a Japan Desk to attract and support Japanese enterprises investing in Dong Nai. The two sides have also worked on the Coordinator Program to connect and support Vietnamese and Japanese businesses, as well as developing human resources for the industrial sector.
To continue achieving practical results from this partnership, Dong Nai PPC and METI-Kansai agreed to re-sign the 5th Economic Cooperation Agreement, focusing on three main areas: developing the supporting industry, training and providing human resources for industry, and environmental and energy-saving initiatives.

With the renewed agreement, cooperation activities between Dong Nai and the Kansai region will be expanded over the next three years to include other areas that will further boost economic development.
Currently, Dong Nai has attracted investments from 46 countries and territories, with 1,667 projects totaling approximately USD 34.84 billion in investment capital. Of these, Japan has 278 projects with a total investment of USD 5.23 billion, making it the second-largest in terms of the number of projects and third in total foreign investment in Dong Nai.
