Rapid increase in scale
To implement the development of organic agriculture, Dong Nai province has issued many resolutions, approved projects and action programs to develop organic agriculture, contributing to rapidly increasing the area as well as diversifying organic production models in the province. Specifically, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 05/2023/NQ-HDND dated July 14, 2023, stipulating policies to support the development of organic agricultural production in Dong Nai province until 2030. The Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2327/QD-UBND dated September 28, 2023 on approving the project to develop organic agricultural production in Dong Nai province for the period 2021-2030 and the 5-year plan, as well as annual plan for implementation.
From the agriculture sector to localities, everyone is actively deploying organic agricultural production models in the province. Accordingly, the certified organic farming area in the province increases rapidly each year. Specifically, in 2021, the province had 3.5 hectares of crops certified as organic. In 2022, this area increased to 7 hectares and currently the entire province has 25.3 hectares of organically certified crop area with many products such as pepper, durian, vegetables...
Among them, many localities focused on developing organic agricultural production and initially achieved remarkable results. For example, Vinh Cuu district currently has more than 16 hectares of vegetables and fruit trees certified for production according to organic standards. In addition, the district has more than 238 hectares of organic crops. This is a favorable condition to continue developing organic agriculture in the district in the coming time.

Planning for 8 concentrated organic production areas
Through actual implementation, organic agricultural production in the province
reveals a number of challenges, such as: production scale is small; although
organic agriculture has linked models from production to consumption, the scale
of connections is still small and ineffective, so the output for organic
products is still having difficult; most farmers still have to find their own
markets with prices not much higher than conventional products. The province is
focusing on building supply chains from production to consumption of organic
agricultural products to overcome the above limitations.
Accordingly, localities are very interested in planning organic production
areas with large-scale concentrations of goods. According to a report from the
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province has planned 8
concentrated organic production areas with a total area of nearly 19 thousand
hectares. In addition to these areas, the province identifies 23 additional locations
that meet local organic production conditions. This is a great advantage for
building specialized farming areas along the chain from production to
consumption of organic agricultural products.
