That is the proposal  made by  the Scientific Council of Dong Nai Province at a preliminary sum-up seminar about  the scientific theme “Studying the Potentials and Solutions for Sustainable Development of Dong Nai’s Ecological Tourism” which is conducted by the Center of Ecology, Environment and Natural Resources.  Professor and Doctor of Science Le Huy Ba takes the lead in this theme.

The Province, with more than 50 tourist destinations scattered throughout 11 localities, is abundant in natural resources, which is suitable for developing various types of eco-tourism such as garden tourism, water tourism, entertainment & recreation, weekend picnic, sightseeing and relaxation, etc. In addition, the co-existence of many ethnic minorities in the province has created unique cultural features,  which is a good condition to develop humanitarian tourism. However, the exploration of tourism potentials has not yet fully tapped and created a complete tourist product.

Accordingly, the theme is aimed at  investigating natural resources and biodiversity to serve the need of developing the province’s eco-tourism; to evaluate the potential of its eco-tourism in order to explore and navigate the planning and protection; and to study and propose solutions as well as several  sustainable development models for ecotourism.

After being conducted for over a year, the project has fundamentally reached its targets. At the seminar, the council members raised their views to make specific contribution to the contents and presentation of the theme so that it could be completed and approved in the future. They also focused on requesting the research group to point out new features that differ from the tourism planning having devised by Dong Nai Province as well as typical eco-tourism models.
