On April 17, Mr. Chung Wen Cheng, Chairman of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked in Dong Nai with the desire to tighten relations and expand investment in the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Van Vinh presented a souvenir to Mr. Chung Wen Cheng, Chairman of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Cheng, Taiwanese enterprises (Chinese enterprises) came to invest in Dong Nai early on, right from the opening of the province to invite foreign investment and many businesses were quite successful. Upon now, Taiwan has invested in more than 300 projects with a total capital of more than 5 billion USD and ranked 2nd in the countries and territories with large investment in Dong Nai. Dong Nai is also one of 3 provinces and cities invested most by Taiwanese enterprises in Vietnam. In investment, Taiwan has a policy towards South and Vietnam which is one of the destinations chosen by many businesses. In addition to the industrial sector, many Taiwanese businesses are also interested in and want to invest in high-tech agriculture.
In the meeting, Vice Chairman, Mr. Tran Van Vinh said that, in the past years, Dong Nai has always created favorable conditions for Taiwanese enterprises to invest in the province. The province cooperates with Taiwan Trade Association in Dong Nai to promptly remove difficulties for Taiwanese enterprises to operate effectively. However, over the past time, some Taiwanese enterprises still let environmental incidents occur and insurance policies for workers have not been good. Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee hopes that if the above incidents occur, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office will coordinate with the province to resolve quickly so that there are no "hot spots" will occur.
