Raising awareness of law observance and stabilizing workers/employees' thoughts are important in building stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
Regularly orienting employees/workers
Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Pousung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Trang Bom District) Le Nhat Truong said that the enterprise has a workforce of about 25,000 people, if their ideological, information, propaganda and orientation policies are not stable, timely and very likely conflicts and contradictions may occur. Specifically, at the time of the recent epidemic, a number of uninformed workers posted on the personal account false information about the fact that this enterprise has a foreign expert who is infected. This information, if not intervened in time, will cause a very confused anxiety for the labor collective, greatly affecting the security and order, labor relations and production at enterprises.
“I think the Trade Union levels need to have close communication sessions at the grassroots level, orienting the employees' ideologies regularly so that they can quickly grasp them, thereby raising their awareness and actions. Because employees often do not foresee what they do, only when things happen will they feel they lose many things, from being punished by law to affecting their work, income and life.” - Mr. Nhat Truong said.
Similarly, Mr. Dang Tuan Tu, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu District), said that for businesses with a large number of employees, promoting the propagation of guidelines and policies is essential and long-term. Besides, the notices issued by Trade Union and Enterprises must be clear so that employees understand, grasp and implement together, avoiding misunderstandings leading to conflicts. When issuing a new policy or State documents and directives on regimes and policies related to employees, Trade Union officials must clearly explain them so they can be easily understood. Because when employees understand the law, have a good sense of compliance, they will identify their responsibilities in their daily work.
Also according to Mr. Tu, at present, businesses are more or less affected by the production of COVID-19 disease, however, grassroots trade unions and enterprises are striving to ensure employment and income for employees. Therefore, employees should be alert to receive external information so as not to affect themselves, and at the same time actively work to overcome difficulties and stabilize production with the enterprises.
Diverse forms of propaganda
Chairman of the Labor Federation of Trang Bom District, Le Duc Thuy said that identifying the right needs of employees will help the propaganda work effectively, avoiding the lack of focus. Specifically, such as the propaganda about access to information, social evils or the implementation of regulations in businesses, etc. Trade unions should integrate with understanding, grasping the thoughts, aspirations and public opinion among workers. Upon such results, the recommendations and suggestions of the employees will be promptly answered, the rights and legitimate interests are guaranteed, then employees will maintain a stance and be assured to work.
At the recent Meeting of Workers program organized by the provincial Labor Federation, the Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Commission for Propaganda of the Provincial Party Committee, Thai Bao said that due to the specific characteristics of employees working in shifts and production lines, there are few conditions for focusing on propaganda. Therefore, innovation and many forms of propaganda will help employees access information faster.
Through propaganda, education, helping employees properly understand position, viewpoint, lines and policies of the Party, policies and laws of the State during the period of stepping up industrialization and modernization of the country today.
According to grassroots cadres, the innovation of timely propagation methods will be very effective. For example, in early April, a phenomenon of many people buying social insurance for one-time use employees occurred in Binh Duong province. In Dong Nai, although this situation is not yet available, Trade Union levels have timely advised employees not to purchase, mortgage social insurance books to affect their rights and disadvantages for themselves in the long-run. Besides, there is widespread communication with employees about the regulations on postponement and termination of labor contracts for employees to appropriate options, ensure their benefits and limit the writing of resignations due to impacts. Along with that, information on methods, tricks and harms of the “black credit” for employees to be alert, not to enter in any form.
