Digitalization in the Agricultural Sector." The conference was attended by

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang concludes at the conference
In recent years, the agricultural sector has actively and strongly implemented digital transformation, particularly in the application of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, data management, IoT, automation, and traceability of agricultural products. These technologies have been applied to production, processing, and marketing of agricultural products, contributing to increased labor productivity, improved efficiency, ensured food safety and hygiene, environmental protection, and enhanced competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products. To date, hundreds of Vietnamese agricultural products have been successfully sold on reputable e-commerce platforms, achieving significant sales figures.
Importantly, tens of thousands of farmers nationwide have effectively applied digital technologies in agricultural production. The initial stages of digital transformation have been implemented in various fields, including crop cultivation, livestock farming, aquaculture, and forestry, yielding highly promising results. Numerous programs and precision agriculture software have been deployed to optimize resource utilization (water, fertilizers, etc.) and gradually shift from traditional to modern agriculture, creating opportunities for increased labor productivity, reduced dependence on environmental conditions and weather, and improved disease control.

In Dong Nai province, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan for digital transformation in the agricultural sector until 2025, with orientations towards 2030. Recently, the province has actively upgraded its information technology infrastructure, established agricultural data systems, and operated 27 software applications. Particularly in 2020, the agricultural sector implemented two information technology application projects for livestock farm management through the Te-food software and the traceability of meat products from animals. Furthermore, the province has invested in upgrading its information technology infrastructure and promoting digital transformation models and information technology applications in high-tech aquaculture, super-intensive shrimp farming, using electronic chips to monitor the health and feed of breeding pigs, and automated control of temperature, water supply, and feed in industrial poultry farming.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang praised and appreciated the efforts, achievements, and dedication of the agricultural sector in digital transformation. Particularly, many farmers and businesses have enthusiastically and successfully accomplished numerous tasks, contributing to the breakthroughs and remarkable achievements of the agricultural sector in recent years. The image and position of Vietnam have been significantly elevated, thanks to the significant contributions of the agricultural sector, especially in terms of food security.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang also pointed out common obstacles and limitations, including the overall development framework and digital transformation in agriculture, which have yet to meet practical requirements. Furthermore, there are challenges such as weak digital infrastructure in agriculture, a vast amount of agricultural data that lacks comprehensive aggregation, statistics, and connectivity, a shortage of human resources in this field, and limited support for businesses and farmers in applying advanced technologies, specifically digital transformation.
Therefore, the agricultural sector must focus on administrative procedure reform, develop databases for the agricultural sector, and build digital infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity between these databases, providing optimal convenience for businesses and farmers. It is necessary to establish priorities for data management in the agricultural sector, with leading information technology companies taking the lead and implementing projects based on agricultural data.
