The Provincial People's Committee has issued Decision No. 14744/KH-UBND on the implementation of the Forestry Development Strategy for the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2050 in Dong Nai Province. Optimize the advantages of forestry
The forestry development strategy for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2050 in Dong Nai Province sets specific goals, the growth rate of forestry production value will reach 7.9-9% per year; the production value of wooden furniture and forest products will reach US$2 billion in 2025, and US$3 billion in 2030.
Socially, the proportion of forestry workers with vocational training will reach 30% by 2025 and 45% by 2030; by 2025, there will be 20% and by 2030, 30% of households will be engaged in commodity forestry.
With a vision to 2050, the forestry industry will become a modern, efficient and highly competitive technical economy; bring into play the efficiency, advantages and potential of tropical forests; modern and environmentally friendly technology; creating a variety of products and services with high added value, deeply participating in the global value supply chain; contribute more and more to sustainable development. In terms of economy, sustainable forestry development, international integration, bringing into play the efficiency and potential of tropical forests, striving to become the leading center of production, processing and trade of forest products in the country.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi emphasized that the forestry sector makes an increasingly important contribution to socio-economic development, protection of the ecological environment, water security, disaster reduction, and proactive response effectively to climate change, conserving natural resources and biodiversity. The goal set in the new phase is to effectively exploit the potential and available advantages while preserving the natural, biological and forest area values. The province has also implemented a project on sustainable production and processing of forest products to 2025, with orientation to 2030. The goal of the project is to develop quickly and sustainably the wood and forest product processing industry, continue to be a key economic sector and makes an important contribution to the economic and social development of the province. Specifically, in the period 2021-2025, Dong Nai will develop raw materials from planted forests in the province to meet at least 28% of the demand for raw materials for wood processing and export forest products; to strive for the export turnover of wood and forest products to reach US$2 billion by 2025; ensuring 100% of exported wood products have legal origin; employs about 200,000 workers and on-site trained workers reach 70% of the forestry workforce.

In the forestry development strategy for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2050 in Dong Nai Province, it also sets out tasks and implementation solutions such as: in terms of mechanisms and policies to encourage forestry development, solutions to mobilize investment resources; agricultural infrastructure construction; management and training of human resources; strengthen international cooperation and integration, etc.
In which, propaganda to raise awareness of all levels, sectors and businesses about economic, social, environmental values, biodiversity, value of providing forest environmental services, green growth and sustainable development of the country, national defense and security protection of forests are focused. In addition, the legal education on forest protection and development, raising the people's awareness of forest protection will be carried out in exciting and diverse forms, creating a change in the perception of forest protection; raising awareness of authorities at all levels about the responsibility of forest management and protection; mobilize households living in and near forests to commit to forest protection; develop and implement forest protection conventions.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hao, Director of Dong Nai Nature - Culture Reserve said the unit has made a master plan to implement the Sustainable Forest Management Plan for the period 2021-2030 to meet 3 criteria: environment, social and economic. In the sustainable forest management plan, the unit sets out the task of protecting intact natural forest areas and restoring old forests. Develop plans to protect populations of flora and fauna species, especially hybridization of endangered species. The unit will pilot the model of forest protection co-management, forest protection contract in order to improve the effectiveness of protection work and contribute to creating jobs and improving the lives of people in the vicinity.
