Therefore, the land use planning of the three areas will be implemented based on the regional planning in order to connect transport network in the area and develop warehouses and ports of transit.

Thousands of hectares of land for logistics development

According to the land use planning for transport development, logistics of these three provinces will be implemented based on regional planning. The three districts are connected with numerous roadways, so the development of warehouses and associated services will be very suitable and convenient.

Mr. Tran Van Danh, Chairman of the Board Members of Luc Phat Logistics Company Limited (Bien Hoa City), said: "Dong Nai is the gateway of many provinces and cities, so it is convenient for the development of a logistics center. When Long Thanh International Airport is completed and put into operation, it will be the biggest air cargo hub in the country. "In the land use planning, it is officially consented that the three provinces have also established land funds of nearly 6,900 hectares for the development of transport and logistics projects. Particularly, Long Thanh district has established more than 5,200 hectares, Nhon Trach nearly 1,200 hectares and Trang Bom 500 hectares.

Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Trang Bom district Le Huu Dang said: "According to the plan, the district has a warehouse port of about 800 hectares. In the foreseeable future, this place will be the major cargo hub of the region. Currently, the railway station of Trang Bom district has been built and expanded, which is capable of transporting large quantities of goods by rail." According to the Vice Chairman, when the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway, the railway to the West, Long Thanh International Airport are built and put into operation, Trang Bom will be the place where logistics is very developed.

Connect the region to develop

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Thu, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, said that priority should be given to investment in arterial roads connected to the regional traffic. At the same time, investing in warehouses and ports where appropriate to transport goods from industrial parks or industrial clusters to ports or vice versa will shorten logistics time and reduce costs for businesses. To raise the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods. "Investing in railway and waterway, shipping and storage will greatly reduce the costs for businesses; ease the pressure on roads and congestion because a train can carry as many cargos as several hundreds of cars," he stressed.

Many planning specialists have commented that the development of a logistic center for Ho Chi Minh City in Trang Bom - Long Thanh - Nhon Trach region is absolutely appropriate. Because this is where many highways, national ways, railways, waterways and air routes are located. Therefore, the province should build the provincial planning and detailed planning of each locality based on the regional planning to soon have plans for investment and rapid development.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Van Vinh said: "The three localities will later develop logistics centers of the region. In the construction planning, the land use planning of the province is implemented based on the planning of the region to connect with regional traffic afterward.

At present, these localities rely on the regional planning to attract investment in the logistic sector. This is also the field that many domestic and foreign companies are interested in and want to make investment in recently. According to K. Srika Reddy, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, recently many Indian businesses have come to Dong Nai to study the planning and investment environment to invest in this highly potential sector.

According to the provincial People's Committee, Dong Nai is the province that is accessible to many major roads such as Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, National Highway 1, National Road 51, National Highway 20, the North-South railway... Dong Nai river system is very convenient for development of roadway, railway and waterway transportation. Therefore, the planning of Trang Bom - Long Thanh - Nhon Trach to become the regional logistic center will drive the economic development in the South of Vietnam.
