Dong Nai was selected by the central government as the place to pilot the eco-industrial park model according to international standards. Starting from industry

In recent years, the province's goal is towards a green industrial model that contributes to building a green economy. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee, the Resolutions of the 10th and 11th Dong Nai Provincial Party Congresses both set goals for green growth and sustainable development. Therefore, 31 Industrial Zones of the province come into operation, all of which must have the central wastewater treatment facilities. Recently, many businesses in the province have followed the trend of technology transformation, using less labor and in production stages that affect the health of workers. Enterprises have switched to using robots.

In the development of green industry in Dong Nai, FDI enterprises are considered as the driving force, contributing to promoting domestic enterprises to do the same. Currently, Amata Industrial Park located in Bien Hoa City is the place chosen by the Ministry of Planning and Investment as an Eco-Industrial Park because there are FDI enterprises that have achieved many criteria on green production.

Mr. Binu Jacob, General Director of Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared: “Dong Nai is the location that Nestlé has set up 3 production factories in Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa 2 and all of them are very successful. Over the years, Nestlé's goal is green growth and sustainable development in order to provide consumers in Vietnam and around the world with safe products. Therefore, the company always focuses on converting and applying modern technology in production, saving energy and recycling the waste to contribute to building a green industry.

Towards the sustainable production

Currently, brands around the world require their partners to apply advanced technology in production to save resources, reduce costs, and protect the environment for sustainable development.

Mr. James Phillips, General Director of TAL Vietnam Garment Company said: “More than 250 fashion apparel brands in the world have set criteria for sustainable production, be responsible for environment, employees, and suppliers. Therefore, Vietnamese garment enterprises supplying and processing for these brands need to carry out production in the direction of "greening" effectively, profitably and develop. Accordingly, in order to meet the above requirements, manufacturing enterprises must save energy and water, use environmentally friendly and safe materials. At the same time, businesses operating must be responsible for the environment and society.

In other fields such as: manufacturing machinery and equipment and spare parts; computers, electronic components; means of transportation; Footwear; textile fiber; wooden product; agricultural products, processed foods, etc. foreign partners are also demanding more and more about the origin and quality of goods. In the race for market share, enterprises that are ahead in green transformation and meet the requirements of sustainable development will have many opportunities to cooperate and participate deeply in the global supply chain. Dong Nai is in the top 6 leading provinces and cities in the country in terms of export, in order to maintain this position, enterprises must meet the criteria of green production at the request of foreign customers.

In addition to industry, Dong Nai also aims to develop sustainable agriculture, planning areas specialized in clean production. The tourism sector focuses on eco-tourism, exploiting the advantages of rivers, lakes, waterfalls and forests while still protecting nature.
