According to the report of the District People's Committee, last year, although the economy was severely affected by the epidemic, price fluctuations and related costs, the district's economic growth reached more than 17%. Industrial Zones in the district have attracted investment in 4 new investment projects and 4 additional capital projects. In the field of trade and services, in 2021, the total retail sales of goods in the district reached more than VND13.7 trillion, up 25% over the same period in 2020; There are 16 planned markets, but only 10 markets have been built, the rest are temporary markets and have no investors. The district has planned 3 commercial centers but has not yet attracted investors. This is a difficulty and is also a recommendation of the District People's Committee to the Department of Industry and Trade to connect and support to attract investors into the field of trade and service.

At the meeting with Nhon Trach District, Ms. Truong Thi My Dung, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that Nhon Trach District has developed industry well, but trade - services are not commensurate, lacking both infrastructure and projects. In the coming time, the district will pay attention to prioritize the development of the service - trade industries, especially logistics services to meet the needs of investors for transporting goods; invest in markets and trade centers to meet people's needs. Regarding the recommendations of the district, the divisions of the Department of Industry and Trade will assist in removing difficulties, connecting businesses investing in the field of trade - services in the area of Nhon Trach District.

In Long Thanh District, according to the report of the District People's Committee, in 2021 industrial production and handicrafts faced many difficulties, the production value of industry - construction is VND132 trillion, reaching 100% of the plan. Regarding the implementation of industrial clusters, the district has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee with detailed planning for 3 industrial clusters: Tam An, Phuoc Binh, and Long Phuoc, while Do Thanh Auto Industrial Cluster is completing the procedures. In terms of trade - services, the total retail sales of goods in 2021 is nearly VND24 trillion. Markets and retail stores in the district meet the needs of the people.

In 2022, the district sets a target that the production value of the whole industry - construction will increase by 23%, the total retail sales of goods will increase by 23% compared to 2021. The district urges investors to accelerate construction progress. building Industrial Cluster infrastructure, meeting the space demand for small and medium enterprises.

Like districts of Nhon Trach, Long Thanh proposed the Department of Industry and Trade, departments, and branches of the province to support the locality in calling for investment in developing more trade centers, markets, supermarkets and other types of e-commerce which is suitable for green and smart city criteria. Industrial Clusters in the area have registered investors but the implementation is very slow, not even deployed but extended many times. Currently, the local demand is very great, so the district recommends investing in new and upgrading 13 projects in the period 2022-2025 to meet the district's socio-economic development needs.

At the meeting with the People's Committee of Long Thanh, the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that the locality has many advantages for industrial development, but the industrial clusters in the district have not been effective, and for many years have still left empty. Therefore, the district reviewed the regulations, which clusters were slow to implement, not capable of investing, and proposed to be withdrawn and assigned to other investors. Regarding the development of trade - services, many markets in the district have not invested effectively and need to be recalculated. The location and size of rural markets must be invested according to the criteria of new rural communes; Supermarkets and trade centers must follow urban standards. Regarding electricity demand, the district and the electricity industry calculate the demand, develop a suitable investment roadmap, and in the near future, the Department of Industry and Trade will submit to the Provincial People's Committee a draft regulation on supporting the rural power grid.
