Gifts Given to 90 Households Damaged by the Flood in An Vien Commune

On the September 27 morning, representative of Phat Quang Pagoda (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) awarded 90 gifts including rice, bread, sugar, spices, clothing and soap for 90 households damaged by the September 9-flood in An Vien commune, Trang Bom district.

The households receive a gifts

    As known, the flood battle comes so suddenly that local authorities do not enable to offer timely rescue. Therefore it had caused major damage to buildings, objects, produce crops of 89 households, including one household with collapsed home with the complete loss of up to nearly VND500 million (US$30,960) and 42 hectares of plants and produce crops are devastating heavily. Immediately after the flood goes down, local organizations have military forces and the police reconstruct damaged houses and help households to overcome difficulties. At the mean time, aid organizations offer urgent aid for 13 households with a total value of VND2.6 million (US$165). Thereby, provincial Red Cross Association also supported 21 households with 420 kilos of rice and 2 sheets of canvas with a total value of VND4,7 million (US$291);

Holding health emanation for the poor

The charity group of Thien Giac pagoda in Giang Dien commune donates 20 gifts with a total value of VND9 million (US$557),  district committee of Fatherland Front supports VND12 (US$743) million and others donors also come and help many households with  cash and in-kind donations.

On this occasion, aid group of Phat Quang Pagoda also holds the examination and issuance of free medicines for the local poor people.
