Very first voters at a polling location in Bach Lam 1 hamlet, Gia Tan 2 commune

For many days ahead of the election, colorful flags and flowers were decorated along all roads.

Streets were filled with a festive atmosphere.

At 7:00 AM, together with voters throughout the district and Gia Tan 2 commune, voters in Bach Lam 1 hamlet were eager to enforce their citizen rights.

Following the religious rites on Sunday, Priest and Pastor of Bach Lam Parish Church Ngo Duy Hoa, a representative for 2,049 voters in the parish, and clergymen and hundreds of religious gathered around as a big crowd, going to polling locations.

The opening ceremony took place in a joyful and formal atmosphere. Voters waited in line for their turns.

Priest Ngo Duy Hoa said: “Two weeks ahead of the election, our parish cooperated with communal committees and unions in calling for parishioners to go to polls to choose qualified candidates who will take responsibility for building a country for the people. Parishioners showed great enthusiasm and high responsibility to cast their votes”.

It is known that Thong Nhat has 116,957 voters. Gia Tan 2 commune alone has 9,299 voters and six election units.

Bach Lam 2 hamlet has two election units due to the fact that it has the largest number of voters.

99.2 percent of the commune’s voters are Catholics.
