(News Portal – Dong Nai) - With a total area of nearly 78 thousand hectares of fruit trees, Dong Nai possesses different advantages in developing large-scale and safe agricultural production. Among them, there are many products that have established themselves on the market and have high economic value and are targeting export markets such as mango, durian, grapefruit, rambutan, cocoa, pomelo, guava, dragon fruit,...
Sau Hung Ecotourism Garden (Binh Loc commune, Long Khanh city) attracts many visitors.
The province's localities are focusing on converting to safe production to protect the rural environment; focus on developing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, constantly diversifying rural products and specialties that not only meet the domestic market but also aim for the foreign markets.
Replicating high-quality specialized farming areas
Many of the province's key crops are currently ranked top in terms of economic efficiency. The province's export banana growing area is leading the country in terms of scale with more than 13.1 thousand hectares. The province also ranks first in the number of banana growing zone codes with 30 growing areas, an area of more than 5.6 thousand hectares. The entire province has nearly 11.4 thousand hectares of durian cultivation, ranking first in the Southeast region and ranking fourth in the country in terms of area of this crop. The province is also a pioneer in setting up codes for 11 durian growing zones, covering an area of more than 820 hectares.
According to the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in recent years, Dong Nai has focused on building areas specializing in growing high-quality fruit trees with competitive prices in the export market. In particular, businesses actively participate in the global supply chain; as well as play a leading role, better competing in other markets and connecting growing areas, and provide supervision during the production process. Importantly, many businesses have collaborated and linked with cooperatives and farmers in setting up growing zone codes, which help verifying products, increasing the trust of the international market in Vietnamese agricultural products.
Mr. Lam Phi Hung, owner of Sau Hung eco-tourism garden (Binh Loc commune, Long Khanh city) pioneered an experimental model using QR codes to trace the origin of plants. At the garden, visitors can actively scan the QR code to be provided with full information about the garden owner, variety types and average yield of each type of tree, coordinates, and location of the garden on Google Map. Scanning this code also helps visitors experience being a farmer by understanding the production process, farming diary, etc. Thereby, consumers can rest assured to enjoy and choose to buy delicious and safe fruit products.

Paying special attention to quality
Localities are interested in developing specific agricultural areas; focusing on solutions to develop craft villages to create valuable products and goods. Enterprises, cooperatives, and production households must invest in applying science and technology, producing according to GAP standards; consider science and technology a key step to achieve breakthroughs in improving production efficiency and agricultural product quality.
Currently, the province has over 2.7 thousand hectares of key crops certified for VietGAP safe production. There are 125 farms and 7 livestock cooperative groups certified by VietGAP. In addition, the province is implementing the construction of 80 organic production models with a scale of nearly 1.5 thousand hectares of crops.
From the potential and advantages of product diversity from livestock to
farming, in which large specialized production areas have been formed, Dong Nai
province has extensively implemented the OCOP program with a variety of
products based on specialty raw material zones, developing rural industries.
Thanks to the attention right from the beginning of its implementation, the
OCOP program has really encouraged many businesses, production facilities as
well as cooperatives to actively exploit the potential of rural specialties
with the goal of establishing major brands for local agricultural products.
For instance, Ca Cao Trong Duc Company Limited (Dinh Quan District) is a
business with many OCOP-certified deep-processed products such as chocolate,
cocoa powder... The company also invests in raw material production zone with
more than 600 hectares for cocoa growing in the province. Mr. Dang Truong

Vietnamese Goods that are not only well consumed domestically but also exported
