In 2009, Dong Nai tourism sector welcomed over 1.7 million turns of tourists, up 19% over the same period, reaching 100.5% the year plan, with the total turnover of VND350 billion.

Strengthening tourism popularization during the year has been done by carrying out publication of Tourism Investment Guide Book, building GIS (Geographic Information System) database of trade and tourism, continuing to run tourism projects such as investment in the site of ecotourism and houses in Binh Hoa quarry, Da Ton lake ecotourism project, aquaculture in combination with ecotourism in Vinh Thanh commune, Nhon Trach district etc. Besides, the tourism sector continues to call for investment in Ong Keo tourist site, Ong Con Island tourist site and extend Buu Long tourist site project.
As known, in 2010, the sector will concentrate on investment to develop ecotourism to be one of the significant economic sectors, following industry-service economy development mechanism, continue to complete planning of developing tourism infrastructure, build and popularize major tourist routes such as Dong Nai river route, root return route, ecotourism route, and tourist route in combination with historical and cultural relic. It strives to raise turns of tourists by 19% in 2010 and turnover by 19% over 2009.
