Moving shopkeepers in Tan Hiep market to temporary market: “the interests of shopkeepers must be guaranteed”

    The People Committee of Bien Hoa City has planed to upgrade Tan Hiep market into a trade center combining with traditional market in order to catch up with the growing trend in promoting trade and service activities in Bien Hoa City, to meet the demand of shopping and entertainment of Bien Hoa people and to promote trade and service activities in Tan Hiep, Tam Hiep, Trang Dai, Tan Tien ward and Amata Industrial park. To clear the ground for construction work, the People Committee of Bien Hoa City has built a temporary market near Dongnai Stadium and required shopkeepers to move their stores, shops in Tan Hiep market to this temporary market

    At the meeting with leaders of provincial and municipal People Committee, most of shopkeepers in Tan Hiep market are worried about difficulties and obstacles when they do their business in the temporary market. They express their concerns about their interests in moving their stores and shops and their business in the new trade center. 

    All worries and concerns of shopkeepers during the transition period will be solved as below: as for shopkeepers require fulfilling their hiring stall contracts, if they do not implement their contracts they will terminate the contracts and will receive compensation for their investment in constructing the market in the past; moving fee for each shopkeeper is one million VND per stall; To help shopkeepers deal with obstacles in moving to temporary market, the People Committee of Bien Hoa City commits that the shopkeepers will be exempt from market fee for one month since the temporary market is opened. The People Committee of Bien Hoa City will not collect shop premises fee of shopkeepers who sign long term contracts; When the new market is opened, all shopkeepers will be arranged stalls in the new market.

    At the meeting, Chairman of provincial People Committee acknowledges the suggestions and concerns of shopkeepers during the moving period. Mr. Chairman requires leaders of Bien Hoa City’s People Committee to strictly investigate and check all related issues in order to give out suitable solutions to ensure the interest of shopkeepers before implementing to move all stalls to temporary market; As for the obstacles related to inconvenient place of a market, the solution for this issue is to build more roads to this temporary market and popularize this temporary market in multimedia.
