(News Portal – Dong Nai) - According
to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the
first 10 months of 2024, Dong Nai has supplied a total meat production of over
601,200 tons to the market. This includes nearly 452,200 tons of pork, an
increase of nearly 4.5% compared to the same period last year, and over 144,200
tons of poultry meat, which reflects a decrease of more than 11.8%
year-on-year.
Currently, the total pig population in the province stands at over 2 million, with nearly 21 million chickens, over 2.3 million waterfowl, and 8 million quails, along with about 115,000 head of cattle and buffalo. With this livestock population, Dong Nai supplies an average of 45,000 tons of pork, 14,400 tons of poultry meat, and over 111 million eggs to the market each month. This significant production of pork, chicken, and eggs primarily results from companies and farms investing in industrial-scale livestock farming, utilizing advanced technology. This abundant supply not only meets the local consumer demand effectively but also provides a substantial amount for other provinces and cities, especially during the period leading up to, during, and after the Lunar New Year 2025.
