After the heavy impacts from the Covid-19 epidemic, many trade connection activities of localities in the Southeast region, Ho Chi Minh City with provinces and cities across the country have gradually recovered since the end of 2021.

In the past time, many trade promotion programs, connecting supply and demand, fairs and exhibitions have taken place, contributing to promoting trade connection activities, promoting local goods and products in the provinces and cities in the Southeast region such as: Conference connecting supply - demand between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in 2021, International food industry online exhibition, Vietnam Food and Shopping Fair - Thailand in Dong Nai in 2022, Exhibition and ceremony to announce high quality Vietnamese goods in 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The most prominent is the Supply-Demand Conference between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in 2021, with 28 provinces and cities participating in the exhibition at 500 booths and 20 provinces and cities participating in the exhibition on 92 virtual booths. This conference has been held annually since 2012, creating many opportunities for businesses, localities to expand trade connections, promote products.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Vice Chairperson of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that the activity of connecting supply and demand of goods between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities is an important initiative in helping to find the suitable buyers for local products and goods.

In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City will strengthen coordination with provinces and cities across the country to focus on promoting the application of information technology, digital transformation, and e-commerce application to effectively support the operation of supply-demand connection; combine modern distribution methods  e-commerce and traditional distribution methods to ensure stable production and circulation of goods, promote socio-economic recovery and development, proactively adapt to the different situations.

Particularly, Dong Nai attended this conference with 6 booths with 12 units participating in displaying and introducing products, including many specialties and products meeting OCOP standards (One Commune, One Product Program) of the province and with 3 enterprises and production facilities of the province participating in the exhibition on the virtual booth on the conference's website. Many enterprises and cooperatives of Dong Nai actively participated in promotional activities and introduced products at the conference. This is considered a timely trade connection channel after nearly a year of many trade promotion activities inside and outside the province were interrupted, postponed because of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to Dong Nai Trade Promotion Center (Department of Industry and Trade), the organization for commercial enterprises, producing products: wooden furniture, handicrafts, bricks, interior decoration stone, electrical equipment, decorative lights, etc. display products in the common booth at the Vietbuild International Exhibition 2022 which took place last April in Ho Chi Minh City. After 5 days of the exhibition, the general booth of Dong Nai Province attracted over 10,000 visitors to visit and shop, of which international visitors accounted for 5%.

In Dong Nai, in the first 6 months of this year, a number of large-scale fairs, as well as activities to connect supply and demand, and trade conferences have been implemented. For example, at the beginning of March, the Vietnam-Thailand Food and Shopping Fair and the Folk Cake Making Week in 2022 were held. This is the first consumer goods fair held on a fairly large scale after a long time of "absence" of fairs and exhibitions because of the Covid-19 epidemic. The fair attracted about 175 businesses, establishments and business agents in many southern provinces and cities to participate with more than 250 booths.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of Dong Nai Trade Promotion Center, Department of Industry and Trade said that in the coming time, it is expected that the Center will support connections for businesses, cooperatives and OCOP subjects (One Commune One Product) Program of Dong Nai will participate in outstanding trade connection activities in the Southern region such as: activities to connect supply - demand in the provinces: Binh Phuoc, Hau Giang expected to take place this July and especially the Conference to connect supply - demand between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in 2022 is expected to take place in August.
