Currently, a number of enterprises have actively and deeply participated in the vocational training process. This partnership brings many benefits to both learners and businesses. In particular, ensuring that students graduate with technical hard skills and soft skills. After graduation, students stay and work at enterprises, ensuring that enterprises can recruit high-quality human resources with appropriate skills; saving costs on recruitment and retraining…

Despite the positive signal, the number of enterprises actively looking to TVET institutions for cooperation is still small, mostly small and medium enterprises.

Enterprises participate in vocational training, 3 parties benefit.

In Dong Nai, Lilama 2 International College of Technology is the leading unit in cooperation with enterprises in vocational training. Since 2010, the school has been selected by the Vietnamese Government and the German Government to build a high-quality vocational training center in the fields of: Mechanics, Automation and Mechatronics to train according to the training model. create "dual".

By 2015, the training model in collaboration with enterprises (adapted from Germany's "dual" training model) was implemented and up to now, nearly 1,000 students have been trained under this model.

With this training model, students can study at both schools and enterprises, in which the practical time at enterprises is enhanced compared to the theoretical time. At enterprises, students are guided by a team of technicians and employees of the enterprise. They are called " corporate trainers".

“Since 2016, the school has recruited students in conjunction with domestic enterprises such as Thuan Hai, Martec Boiler…, foreign invested enterprises (FDI) such as QHPlus, Schaeffler, Ishei Vietnam… to develop training nearly 1,000 students according to this model. The students not only study the program according to German standards but also receive salary and other expenses paid by enterprises during their study at the enterprise" - MSc Nguyen Khanh Cuong, Rector of Lilama International College of Technology 2 said.

In fact, enterprises participating in vocational training do not cost much, but on the contrary, the student's labor efficiency in production and business results is proportional to the learning process. This is the result of a survey conducted by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).
Accordingly, in the first year, enterprises invest more than they recover. From the 2nd year onwards, businesses benefit from investing in learners. On the school side, the quality of vocational training is improved, creating a reputation for TVET institutions, which is a premise for vocational schools to develop sustainably.

In order for enterprises to participate in vocational training, it is necessary to have a team of enterprise trainers. They are qualified, skilled and experienced people who are trained to have pedagogical skills to perform well in guiding and training students at enterprises.

GIZ has organized a training program for source trainers for college-level enterprise trainers. Accordingly, participants must study 90 hours (both theory and practice). After completing the course, these source trainers will train trainers at enterprises and at schools.

As a teacher at a vocational college in the province, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam has a solid grasp of pedagogy and understands the regulations on vocational training. Therefore, when joining Hoang An One Member Limited Liability Company (specializing in stylist and beauty care training), Ms. Tam was assigned to be in charge of training. While working at Hoang An, Ms. Tam continued to collaborate in teaching at many vocational schools inside and outside the province, so she had the opportunity to approach and grasp the needs and trends of learners for the beauty industry.

Enterprises actively participate in vocational training

Ms. Tam is quite optimistic about the prospects of the beauty care industry. In fact, the demand for studying beauty care (makeup, skin care, hairstyling, nail making, massage...) is very much nowadays, while there are very few TVET institutes with formal training in this industry. Therefore, most learners are taught in a traditional way at spas, beauty salons... Vocational trainers may have skills and experience but lack knowledge, so the method of communication is not good, even teaching is not good. Right science leads to many consequences, especially in the field of cosmetology and skin care. In addition, the tuition fees at beauty salons and spas are also quite high compared to the tuition fees of vocational schools. Therefore, currently, the enterprise that Ms. Tam works for is discussing and cooperating with vocational schools in the province to open a beauty care training industry.

Having a master's degree, participating in vocational training at a number of colleges and having his own business, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Deputy General Director of Nam Van Logistics Company (Bien Hoa City), said that in order to work well with the company. Enterprises in vocational training, vocational schools should organize a model of a business trainer club.

This club will gather entrepreneurs with at least a university degree, ready to share their experiences, skills and knowledge with students. The club will operate on its own, without using the school's funds to pay salaries for the club's staff. When joining this club, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to connect with many different business leaders, expanding development opportunities; actively seek human resources from vocational schools. Meanwhile, the school can mobilize entrepreneurs to participate in teaching a number of topics and modules of training professions.

"In order to ensure the transmission of knowledge, the school needs to coordinate in organizing a training course for pedagogical certificates for members of the Business Instructors Club" - Mr. Hai suggested.

When there is a club, the school is supported with an internship place for students in a more convenient way. At the same time, students also have the opportunity to approach businesses to find jobs after graduation.
