Dong Nai: Thousands of Youth Union Members Celebrate Earth Hour under the Rain

In the evening of march 27, at the provincial square (the complex of sports and culture), thousands of Youth Union members, students in the province joined together at the launching ceremony in response to Earth Hour 2010 jointly organized by Dong Nai Youth Union and Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Youth Union members light candles to respond to the campaign

     Responding to Earth Hour 2010, Dong Nai youth has taken part in practical activities to improve the youth union members’ and people’s awareness of climate change and tress on their responsibilities for present-day and future living environments. At the ceremony, along with some music performances, there were a disguise contest entitled “I am interested in our habitat, and you?” and fashion shows themed “Life and Environment” performed by students from universities, colleges and schools across the province. When it was exactly 8.30 PM, all lightening systems in the complex were switched off and 60 candles were lit up instead, representing 60 minute duration of the campaign.
