5-year people’s air defense work preliminarily summed up

During the past 5 years, under the implementation of the Decree No.65/2002/ND-CP of the Government, the people's air defense work in Dong Nai province has been put into order and achieved specific results such as propagandizing, educating, and building a fighting forces, forces repairing war damage and air defense rehearsal in the localities.

People's air defense rehearsal  

In addition to the establishment and propaganda activities of the Steering Committee of people's air defense work at all levels, the provincial Military Headquarter directed all localities and related units to conduct basic training task, especially focusing on air-defense rehearsal with tear shell and dynamite in various situations. It also established the forces repairing war damage across the country with 262 groups including 7,860 members, let alone other forces in companies, factories, and schools (each unit has 1 group with 10-15 members each). There are 60 groups in service of air defense with 1,800 members. Moreover, the rehearsal of fighting for public order and rehearsal in defense areas were carried out in 11/11 districts and 83/171 communes and wards. At the same time, shelter pits and other equipment as well as budget for people's air defense activities were also prepared thoroughly.

On October 29, the Steering Committee of the people's air-defense work and Dong Nai province People's Committee held a ceremony to preliminarily sum up the 5-year implementation of the Decree No.65/2002/ND-CP of the Government on the People's Air-defense work. On this occasion, 21 organizations and 21 individuals who had excellent achievements in the people's air-defense work during the past 5 years were awarded by the provincial People's Committee.
