A music performance

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh – Member of the Central Party Committee and Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee delivered a speech, reminiscing about the traditional history of the Party from when it was born to when it won one victory after another. February 3, 1930 – 80 years ago, the Communist Party of Vietnam was born, marking a significant milestone for our nation’s development. On the first day of its founding, the Party led the Xo Viet Nghe Tinh high tide – the first drill to prove its ability to assemble forces and   bring the Vietnamese Revolution to victory. Thanks to these tides of revolutions, our Party grew stronger and stronger to lead our people to the victory of the August Revolution of 1945 and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and helped Vietnamese people – slaves – take hold of the fate of the nation, marking an independence age associated with socialism. Into a new period, the Party won wars of resistance against the French Colonial Empire and the American Imperial Invaders, freeing the people, protecting the country, making the people’s democratic revolution successful, unifying the country and bringing the country to socialism. These victories made Vietnam a nation with independence, freedom, development, socialism, expanded international relations and an increasingly important position in both the region and the world. Today, our Party has initiated the renewal process, leading our people to a comprehensive victory and making a poor and underdeveloped Vietnam gradually industrialized and modernized. The historically significant and great achievements the Party and the people have obtained the past 80 years prove that the Communist Party is the people's trust. Actually, it is the pioneer and leader of the working class and the working people.

Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh – Member of the Central Party Committee and Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee is making a speech at the ceremony

Dong Nai is one of the cradles where the revolution was born. In the early 20th century, many strong struggles of workers, especially those of rubber workers, took place here. It was a required and important premise to create core nuclei which developed quickly into the Party machines in Dong Nai. The Indochinese Communist Party cell in Phu Rieng rubber plantation was the first one to be established among Dong Nai workers and in the East Cochinchina in October 1929.

The ceremony

Since then, Dong Nai People's revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the Party has won victory after victory and contributed to liberating, reunifying and making a powerful and prosperous country. In recent years, Vietnam and the world have undergone a lot of changes. Especially, despite changes in late 2008 affecting Dong Nai’s socio-economic development process its Party and people seized opportunities and got over difficulties to obtain important achievements: sustained economic growth at high rate, improvement of people's lives and maintained social security and national defense.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee – Vo Van Mot sparked an emulation movement among the Party and people to welcome the Party Congress at all levels, aiming for the 10th Congress of Dong Nai Party Committee and the 11th National Party Congress. Mr. Bui Xuan Thong – Secretary of Dong Nai Youth Union made a speech to respond to the emulation movement and signaled Dong Nai youth’s determination towards completing the targets set in the resolution of the Congress of Dong Nai Party Committee successfully.

The same day, cadres, Party members, armed forces heroes, labor heroes, the representatives for civil servants, laborers, religions, armed forces, Youth Union members and students burned incense and laid wreaths in the province’s Martyr Cemetery at 6 a.m.
