Summing-up conference on the activities of Agent-Orange Victim Fund in a 10-year period

        Over the past 10 years, the Red Cross Association at all levels has organized many campaigns to support for poor people and Agent Orange victims on the special occasions such as Tet holiday and Agent Orange victims’ Day (August 10).

The conference’s view

        Addressing at the conference, Vice-Chairperson Huynh Thi Nga highly appreciated the activities of Agent Orange Victim Fund. At the same time, she suggested that the functional agencies should provide much more help for disabled people and Agent Orange victims in the coming time.

organizations and 12 individuals who have actively contributed to the Fund were granted certificates of merit conferred by provincial People’s Committee.

        The Fund also provided gifts worth VND500.000 each  for 110 families and victims suffering from effects of the Agent Orange in the province.

        There are now over 5,000 people being affected by the Agent Orange. Of the figure, many victims have to suffer from deformities and mental disorder. Many of them are poor and so they need help as well as assistance from the community to improve their lives.
