Development of Organic and Organic-oriented Farming and Livestock by 2030

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - According to the plan for implementing the project to develop organic agricultural production in Dong Nai Province by 2030, the total area for organic and organic-oriented cultivation in the province is expected to reach 4,400 hectares, accounting for 2.13% of the province's agricultural production land. Specifically, the area for organic-oriented cultivation will exceed 3,200 hectares, while the area for fully organic cultivation will be nearly 1,200 hectares.

In the livestock sector, the scale of organic and organic-oriented livestock will include 10,200 pigs, 507,500 poultry, over 1,000 cattle, and 1,700 goats. An organic extensive aquaculture area under forest canopy will also be established, covering approximately 400 hectares. Each focused organic agricultural development area will form a linkage chain connecting production with the consumption of organic agricultural products for each commodity. The value of organic agricultural products is 1.5 to 2 times higher than that of conventional agricultural products.

Specifically, the province prioritizes the development of eight concentrated organic production zones, including seven for cultivation and one for aquaculture. The primary crops focused on for organic and organic-oriented production are the province's key crops, including citrus fruits, durian, mango, banana, cashew, pepper, and various vegetables.

The plan aims to concretely implement all content, tasks, solutions, and clearly assign responsibilities in line with the functions and duties of various levels and sectors. This ensures proactive, synchronized, and timely implementation of solutions, policies, and mechanisms, accompanied by regular checks and evaluations. The goal is to achieve the targets for organic agriculture development as outlined in the plan.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will lead the coordination with other departments, sectors, district and city People's Committees, and relevant units to organize and implement the plan's contents. ​
