Of these figures, the retail sales value of goods gained VND2,888.7 billion in February, accounting for 92.68% against the previous month; VND6,005.6 billion in the first two months, up 19.3% compared to the same period and reaching 13.1% of the year’s plan. In particularly, the retail sales value of goods of the state-owned area was VND1,366.5 billion in February, up 11.6% against the same period, and VND476 billion in the first two months of 2009, up 11.8% against the same period. In the non state-owned area, the retail sales value of goods reached VND8,664.1 billion, up 21.5%, and VND5,102.3 billion in the first two months of 2009, up 20.8% compared to the same period. In foreign invested area, the retail sales value of goods recorded VND1,125.2 billion, up 10.6%, and VND427.3 billion in the first two months, up 11.5% over the same period.
As for the retail sales of goods by economic activity in the first two months of 2009, it was expected to reach VND4,946.1 billion in trade, up 17.6%; VND448.6 billion in restaurants and hotels, up 39.1%; VND2.26 billion in travel and tourism, up 13%; and VND608.6 billion in services, up 21.5% compared to the same period.
