Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway Phase 1, when completed, will contribute to reducing traffic pressure on National Road 51 and increasing regional connectivity for development.
Transport infrastructure will create a breakthrough in development
After many years of waiting, in January 2021, the construction investment project of Long Thanh International Airport phase 1 officially started construction. According to the schedule set by the Government, this "super" airport will complete construction and put into operation phase 1 in 2025.
According to the plan, when the whole construction is completed, Long Thanh airport will be the largest airport in the country. Therefore, this project is not only meaningful in connecting traffic, Long Thanh airport is also expected to create a big push for a series of other fields such as logistics, commercial and services, urban development to develop together.
More than a year after the Long Thanh airport project phase 1 was officially started construction, the development momentum of Dong Nai continued to increase when the National Assembly officially approved the investment policy of 2 other major transport infrastructure projects are Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway Phase 1 and Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City.
Bien Hoa-Vung Tau HIghway is a route that will connect two dynamically developing localities of the Southeast region, namely Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. In the future, this will also be the main connection axis between Long Thanh airport and Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport cluster.
Meanwhile, Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City is a connecting traffic route for the Southeast region in particular and the inter-region between the Southeast and the Southwest region in general. This route also carries on its "mission" to connect a series of localities with developed industries such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Long An.
Besides the three major traffic projects mentioned above, Dong Nai and other localities are also finalizing investment procedures for Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City. Compared with Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City plays an even more important role in connecting localities with strong industrial development such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau; Dong Nai; Binh Duong; Ho Chi Minh City and Long An.
Assessing the strategic role of Ring Road 4-HCM city, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung said that all industrially developed localities must pass through Ring Road 4-HCM city to Cai Mep port if exporting goods by sea. In the future, when Long Thanh airport is put into operation, this will also be the main route for these localities to import and export goods by air.
For a long time, the lack of synchronous and degraded transport infrastructure is the biggest bottleneck restraining the socio-economic development of Dong Nai in particular and the Southeast provinces in general. Therefore, with a series of large transport infrastructure projects that have been implemented, creating great expectations in creating a breakthrough for development of Dong Nai in particular and the Southeast region in particular.
Ready to take the chance.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung, with major transport infrastructure projects such as Long Thanh airport and highways deployed by the central government in the province, in upcoming time, Dong Nai will have a very favorable environment for development.
In fact, in addition to the great opportunities created, the implementation of major transport projects in the province also faces many great challenges, especially in ensuring the completion schedule of the projects. early to create a breakthrough development. For 3 major traffic projects being implemented in the province, namely Long Thanh airport phase 1, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau highway phase 1 and Ring road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, all have completion timelines in 2025. With an extremely limited time, it requires authorities and localities to make maximum efforts to ensure the requirements of the project progress.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said that for the two projects of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway Phase 1 and Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, relevant agencies as well as localities must ensure the timeline for starting construction is before June 30, 2023 as required by the Government. With the above timeline, the authorities as well as the localities are currently racing for progress.
Director of the Construction Investment Project Authority of the province Ngo The An said that for the completion of the dossiers of the component projects of the two projects of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau highway phase 1 and Ring Road 3-HCM city, the unit is actively coordinating with the Ministry of Transport and Communications and localities to soon complete. At the same time, the intersection locations are also being reviewed to ensure traffic connectivity after the projects are completed.
Meanwhile, for the site clearance for Long Thanh airport project phase 1, Dong Nai is also speeding up the implementation to soon complete the handover of the entire site in September 2022.
