Government calls for an investment of more than US$6 billion in Dong Nai

The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 1831/QD-TTg on the National List of projects calling for foreign direct investment (FDI) for the 2021-2025 period. Accordingly, the whole country will have about 157 projects in various sectors such as railways, highways, expressways, seaports, logistics centers, garbage, and wastewater treatment systems, industrial infrastructure park, energy infrastructure, information technology infrastructure.

Railways will get the major investment in the coming years.

Dong Nai alone has 5 projects calling for FDI enterprises to invest with a total capital of more than US$6 billion. Including Trang Bom - Hoa Hung Railway, with a length of more than 39km extending from Dong Nai to Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City, with a total investment of nearly US$2.977 billion. Thu Thiem light rail project - Long Thanh International Airport to carry passengers between the Center of Ho Chi Minh City and Long Thanh International Airport and vice versa. This project renews more than 37km of railway and the investment capital is US$174 million. Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Railway Project connecting national railway with Cai Mep Port and seaports in Ba Ria - Vung Tau area has a length of 84km, divided into 2 phases for implementation, total investment capital is US$2,47 billion (in Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau). The construction project of Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway (section from Dau Giay to Tan Phu District), the total length of 60km, the road has 4 lanes with the investment capital of US$268 million. Water supply and waste treatment system in Long Khanh City has a total investment capital of US$127 million.

Most of the above projects are invested in the form of Public–Private Partnership (PPP), especially Long Khanh City project can be invested in a joint venture or with 100% FDI capital.
